First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?
- Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
- Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
- Finally… reveal the book!
“Gods, it was boiling in this useless excuse for a kingdom.”
Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
With the release of SJM’s newest novel in the Throne of Glass series, Tower of Dawn and witnessing the excitement of so many of my good friends over on Goodreads about said book. I couldn’t help but go back to the world I once left yeaaarrss ago and give it a second shot. I’m hoping to start reading the third book in the series today as I’ve just finished reading Crown of Midnight (which was freaking amazing btw. I didn’t expect to love it as much especially since I stumbled upon a major spoiler way before I got to the ending). I have no idea what to expect from HoF but I would love to get pleasantly surprised again.
What do you think about the Throne of Glass series in general? Which book is your favorite? Is the series on your TBR? Feel free to comment your feels down below :’)
Thanks for coming by. I hope you all have a lovely day and a very happy reading! ❤
