First Lines Fridays #9

First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?

  • Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
  • Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
  • Finally… reveal the book!

“There was a thing waiting in the darkness.”

Queen of Shadows by SARAH J. MAAS

Queen of Shadows (Throne of Glass, #4)

Continuing my ToG binge with the 3rd book in the series and I am l i v i n g. Classes at my university officially began this week and while that’s a drain, reading HoF was a great thing to look forward to at the end of the day. Also, the ending left my jaw hanging as it ended on a somewhat cliffhanger so I can’t wait to dive into QoS and undoubtedly fall even more in love with the characters. :’)
